The 25 stalls cover meat and poultry, cheese and dairy, nuts and dried fruits, wine and spirits, and prepared foods, with coffee and tea alongside them. There is a food court inside the building, so you can sit down with a coffee rather than shopping and leaving. Thursday is the long morning, opening an hour ahead of the rest at 7:00am, and Saturday runs an hour later than the weekdays, to 3:00pm.

Villena is a small town, so staying in or near the town centre puts you within easy walking distance of the Municipal Market and the main sights. Town Centre is your best bet, with a handful of hotels and guesthouses that won't break the bank.

If you want something with a bit more character, Hotel Restaurante Salvadora is a well-regarded local option that gives you a comfortable base without having to go far. You can reach the market on foot in just a few minutes from most central spots.
