Street markets in L'Alfàs del Pi
The two produce-led markets are the largest, at 40 stalls each: one in the town centre on a Friday morning, the other, the Mercadillo de El Albir, down by the seafront on a Sunday. Both run to the same pattern of fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, with jewellery, local honey, spices and herbs and prepared foods filling out the rest of the rows. Between them they cover most of what you would otherwise drive to Benidorm for.
The other two are browsing markets rather than shopping ones. A 23-stall craft fair sets up in Albir in the evening, from 6pm, selling handicrafts, jewellery and flowers and plants, and a flea market at the weekend deals in secondhand clothing and antiques. Stall numbers there are not recorded, so treat it as the smallest of the four.
