Food takes up a good part of the 100 stalls: fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, meat and poultry, cheese and dairy, and bread and bakery goods. It is the sort of market where the week's groceries are the point rather than souvenirs.

The rest of the square is clothing and textiles, and footwear and leather goods. Prices are set stall by stall, so it pays to walk the whole square before buying.
